Martin Doblmeier
President and Founder

Martin combines a lifelong interest in religion with a passion for journalism. Over the past twenty years, he has travelled on location to over forty countries to profile numerous religious leaders, religious communities, heads of state, and Nobel Laureates. His documentaries examine how spiritual faith leads individuals to extraordinary actions; how spirituality creates and sustains communities; and how religion evolves to meet the needs of a changing society.
     Martin enjoys discussing the film-making process and the themes raised by his documentaries. In the last two years Martin has been a featured speaker or presented films and led discussions in more than 75 churches, synagogues and theaters across America. He has been been a guest on numerous programs including NPR's The Diane Rhem Show, The Scott Simon Show, Eye to Eye with Connie Chung and CNN's Showbiz Today. martin@journeyfilms.com


Dan Juday
Vice President

Dan is currently producing THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS and WASHINGTON NATIONAL CATHEDRAL: New Century, New Calling. He also keeps busy with the Journey Films website. He recently coordinated national publicity for BONHOEFFER, both its national PBS broadcast and its theatrical release prior to that. He produced two Spanish-language films centered on the National Shrine and the ABC program Church without Borders. He joined Journey Films in 1998 as associate producer for Author of Reform: The Cardinal Suenens Story.     
     Dan brings more than 25 years of communication experience in print and media, in religion and medical education. He developed the publishing program for the U.S. Catholic Bishops, and worked as consultant to book publishers and videomakers in the U.S. and abroad. He has partnered with a variety of clients in Europe and Asia. Dan speaks Spanish and Portuguese and has a working knowledge of French and Italian. Whenever possible, he escapes to his home in Co Leitrim, Ireland.

Adele Schmidt
Producer and Editor
 
Adele, a German filmmaker, recently produced and edited the docudrama Albert Schweitzer: Called to Africa and is now post-producing THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS and Cathedral Today. She joined Journey Films in 2002 with the production of BONHOEFFER.
     Adele is also co-founder of Docs In Progress, a new workshop initiative in the Washington, DC metropolitan area encouraging filmmakers to screen their works in progress for peer review and feedback.
     Prior to joining Journey Films Adele produced, directed and edited several award-winning documentaries and TV programs for cultural channels in Europe. She also lectured in Mexico City and conducted workshops on new trends in documentary filmmaking. Her films, "Land of Mennonites" (2000) and "Juana's Journey" (1998) focus on the marginalized and their search for a better life.
