Martin Doblmeier to give Colliver Lectur at University of the Pacific

 

This year’s Dr. George Colliver lecture at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, will be given by Martin Doblmeier, president and founder of Journey Films.  The annual lecture series was begun in 1957 by Colliver, former chairperson of the Department of Religious Education, as a way to explore contemporary developments in religion and society.

The talk, which will focus on the intersection of faith and filmmaking, will be given Thursday Feb 23 at 7:30 pm in Alumni House on the Stockton campus. While on campus, Doblmeier will speak to several classes, including a class on documentary filmmaking. Earlier in the week, a number of Doblmeier’s films, including BONHOEFFER and The ADVENTISTS, will be shown in the Janet Leigh Theater as a lead up to the talk. The famed actress, Janet Leigh, was a graduate of the University and a new theater was recently dedicated in her honor. For more information visit:
