MARTIN DOBLMEIER

PRESIDENT/FOUNDER

Martin holds degrees in Religious Studies, Broadcast Journalism and honorary degrees in Fine Arts and Humane Letters. Since 1984 he has produced and directed more than 30 films focused on religion, faith and spirituality. Martin combines a lifelong interest in religion with a passion for storytelling. Over the years he has traveled on location to more than forty countries to profile numerous religious leaders, spiritual communities, heads of state and Nobel Laureates. His films explore how belief can lead individuals to extraordinary acts, how spirituality creates and sustains communities and how faith is lived in extraordinary ways.

NICK COX

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Nick joined the Journey Films team in 2024.

He specializes in digital cinema techniques with lighting and camera, and excels in post-production skillsets. His portfolio includes narrative cinematography, documentary editing, and commercial production. Nick graduated with a B.A. in Film Production from Southern Adventist University in 2023. 

CARRIE SNYDER

PRODUCER

Carrie joined Journey Films in 2018 as an Associate Producer. She has an undergraduate degree in Religion from Mary Washington College and did graduate work in Medieval Studies at the Catholic University of America. She began work in the film world in 2004 with a certificate in Filmmaking from NYU, and then attended The Edit Center for specialized training as an editor. After several years working on shows including The First 48, The Rachael Ray Show and Pawn Stars, she returned home to DC. With over a decade of experience in video editing, Carrie is now expanding her experience to include producing, motion graphics, and web design.

DERYL DAVIS

PRODUCER

Deryl Davis has worked as Producer and Education Director with Martin Doblmeier and Journey Films since 2012. His work includes Spiritual Audacity: The Abraham Joshua Heschel Story, Revolution of the Heart: The Dorothy Day Story, Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurman Story, Adventists II, and The Blueprint. Deryl holds a PhD in Theology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. He is an Adjunct Professor in Theology and the Arts at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C, where he teaches courses in drama, literature, film, and contemplative spirituality. Deryl is the recipient of two Religion News Association Awards for Best Religion Reporting on National Television.
